After a strong performance at the state qualifying tournament, Dartmouth High School cross country runner Elaijah Monteiro earned a spot in the Nov. 18 MIAA cross country championship in Devens.

Monteiro was looking to break 17 minutes, but finished in the middle of the pack at 89th with a time of 17:53:18 in Division 2. 

Saturday was the second time that Monteiro served as the sole Dartmouth High School representative at the state championship.
