WAREHAM – Gerard W. Kottmann, 100, of Wareham, passed away on September 4, 2026, at Tobey Hospital, Wareham. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Scott) Kottmann and the son of the late William and Agnes Kottmann.
He was born in Queens, NY and lived in Yorktown Heights, NY for many years before moving to Wareham after retiring. He was a World War II Navy Veteran.
Mr. Kottmann worked as a Corporate Aviation Manager for Union Carbide Corporation in White Plains, NY for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking.
Survivors include his children, Lyn East of Auckland, New Zealand, Patricia Kottmann of New Bedford, Michael Kottmann of Fayetteville, NY, William Kottmann of Naples, FL, Gerard W. Kottmann, Jr. of Hopewell Junction, NY, David Kottmann of Glen Ellen, IL and John Kottmann of Stamford, CT; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
