Juliette "Julie" Delaney English, 79
Juliette "Julie" Delaney English, 79, beloved wife of the late John “Jack” B. English Jr., passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, Julie was the daughter of the late Lionel and Gabrielle (L'Herault) Delaney.
She graduated from Tolman High School in 1965, where she studied business. After graduating, she began her career with Consolidated Freightways in East Providence. Julie later chose to dedicate herself full-time to raising her family, a role she considered her life's greatest calling.
After many years devoted to her children and home, Julie returned to the workforce, serving in the Berkley School System and at the Paul A. Dever State School. She later joined the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, where she spent many years as Assistant to the Director. Julie was a respected and valued colleague who took great pride in her work, the relationships she built, and the contributions she made throughout her career.
Above all else, Julie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Rob Santos; Heidi Santos and her partner, Joe Straub; Randy Santos and his partner, Beverly Melito. Her children were a constant source of pride and happiness throughout her life. Julie was especially devoted to her granddaughters, Kailey and Kaicey Melito-Santos, who brought her immeasurable joy and held a special place in her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them. A special place in Julie's heart was also reserved for her beloved dog, Katie, who’s loyal companionship brought her comfort, happiness and unconditional love throughout the years.
She is survived by her siblings, Lionel "Leo" Delaney Jr. and his wife, Deb; Patricia "Pat" Fay and her husband the late David Fay; and Carol Doyle and her husband, Patrick. Julie shared a close bond with her family. During her illness, Pat provided extraordinary love, comfort and support, remaining by Julie's side throughout her treatment. Julie is also survived by a niece and several nephews.
Julie will also be lovingly remembered by the family of her late husband, Jack, with whom she shared many happy years. The relationships she formed with his family remained an important part of her life. She treasured the love and friendship they shared.
Julie was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Celtics. She also loved photography, gardening, card crafting, shopping and most importantly, spending time with her cherished circle of friends. Their laughter, companionship and unwavering support were a source of strength and joy throughout her life, especially during difficult times.
Julie will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, generosity and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the family and friends she cherished, and in the countless lives she touched throughout her years.
Julie’s Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026, 10:00 AM, Saint Patrick’s Church, 94 High Street, Wareham, MA. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, 7 Tihonet Road Wareham, MA.
